ARMY CHANGES OFFICERS OVERSEAS LIEUT.-COL. ALLEN'S COMMAND (By Telegraph.—'Press Association* WELLINGTON, Thursday Long lists of appointments, promotions, transfers and postings of officers on active service with the Expeditionary Force overseas are published in tonight’s Gazette. Brigadier E. Puttick, D. 5.0., N.Z.S.C., A.D.C. to ‘the King, has resumed command of the Fourth New Zealand Infantry Brigade as from January 8. Lieutenant-Colonel L. M. Inglis, M. on relinquishing temporary command of the Fourth New Zealand Infantry Brigade, is appointed to command the Infantry Training Brigade and is promoted to be brigadier. Major J. M. Allen is appointed to the command of the Thirtieth (Auckland) Battalion and promoted lieutenant-colonel. Major F. L. Hunt, N. is appointed to command
the Thirty-second (Canterbury - Otago) Battalion and promoted lieu-tenant-colonel. Captain J. D. Cottrell is appointed Deputy-Assistant-Director of Medical Services. Major F. J. Gwilliam is appointed to the command of the Twenty-seventh (Machine-gun) Battalion and promoted lieutenantcolonel Major (temporary lieutenantcolonel) S. F. Hartnell is appointed to command the Thirty-first (Wellington) Battalion temporarily. Captain (temporary major) R. H. Bell, Second Divisional Cavalry, is appointed Deputy-Assistant-Adjutant-General, vice Major A. R. Cockerell, who is appointed brigade major of the Infantry Training Brigade. Staff Appointments Major F. L. H. Davis, N.Z.S.C., is appointed General Staff Officer (second grade) on Divisional Headquarters, vice Major D. T. Maxwell, N.Z.S.C., who is appointed General Staff Officer (second grade) at the New Zealand Expeditionary Force base. Major S. C. V. W. Sugden, N.Z.S.C., Twenty-seventh (MachineGun) Battalion, is appointed to command the base reception depot temporarily. Major P. W. G. Spiers, M.C., Twentieth (Canterbury-Otago) Battalion, is appointed to command a prisoner-of-war camp. Major A. A. Tennent is appointed to command No. 1 New Zealand Convalescent Depot and is appointed lieutenant-colonel to complete establishment of the New Zealand Medical Corps. Major K. W. R. Glasgow is transferred from the 4th Field Regiment, New Zealand Artillery, to command the Artillery Training Regiment and is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant - colonel. Major R. W. Fenton is transferred from the 4th Field Regiment to the Artillery Training Regiment as second-in-command. Major (temporary) F. W. Voelcker is granted the temporary rank of lieutenant-colonel while commanding the Eighth Brigade Training Battalion.
