KIWITAHI FUNCTION
SPINSTERS’ BALL The funds of the Lady Galway Guild benefited by £l4 from the annual I Spinsters’ Ball, held in the Kiwitahi | Hall recently. A large number, | including many visitors, were present j and a* very happy time was spent. | dancing to music provided by a local | orchestra. Extras were played by j Mrs R. C. Watson and Miss J. Wills, i Mr G. Howie acted as master of cerej monies. Novelty dances were won by Miss C. Hill and Mr G. Hall, and j Miss M. Matchett and Mr Matchett. j A novelty competition was won by Miss E. Campbell. Among those present were:—Mesdames F. N. Stringiield, wearing peacock blue satin taffeta; L. P. Swarbrick, navy floral taffeta; F. A. Sing, green taffeta; R. C. Watson, black georgette, relieved with silver trimmings; R. Cadman, pirate red georgette; H. Miller, black georgette; F. Washbourne. Royal blue crepe sole; A. Wills, black embossed soimousseline; A. McLean, mauve georgette; F. Hanson, black crepe de chine; G. Barlow, mauve figured sheer; A. G. Thompson, apricot georgette brocaded taffeta. Many Pastel Shades Misses E. Howie, oriental organza; J. Caulfield, black crepe skirt and georgette jacket; E. Campbell (Auckland), aquamarine moire taffeta; E. Smith, lavender spotted net; Z.’ Miller, apple green chiffon; B. Har-1 rls, pink embossed satin; K. Michie, floral georgette, with pink trimmings; iR- Hanson, black crepe de chine; B. ] Cunningham, pink net and satin lace'; R.
