CAMBRIDGE SINGLES MCFARLANE WINS CHAMPIONSHIP (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE, Tuesday. N. McFarlane won the senior diamplunship singles of the Cambridge Bowling Club last night when be narrowly dei'eaiteu W. J. White, the scores being 2 3—<2l. White was previously a two-lifer and McFarlane a one-lifer. In the Urst game McFarlane beat White comrortably to reduce him to even terms. The second game resulted in a seusaiional draw alter .McFarlane liad fought an uphill game all the way. Last night's replay was a repetition, White having a substantial lead in the early stages. At the 10th head tlie scores were 16—<7 in White’s favour, but a succession of heads giving McFarlane points saw him take the lead at the 13th. lie eventually won by 2 3 points to 2f. On the last head White missed equalising the scores once more by inches. HUNTLY CHAMPIONSHIP (Special to Times) HUNTLY, Wednesday. The Huntly Bowling Club’s champion singles were Ilnalised on Saturday when M. Perpnan became champion for the 1941 season by defeating the Rev. W. P. Rankin (last year’s champion) by 29 points to li.
