PLUMBERS’ PICNIC
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION HELD RESULTS OF SPORTS A successful seaside picnic organised by the plumbers of Hamilton was held at Raglan recently. Thanks to the efforts of an energetic committee and the generosity of various firms -the picnic, which was the first of its kind held in the district for many years, was an unprecedented success. Trophies and prizes won in events held during the afternoon were presented by Mr D. A. Sellar, who thanked Mr and Mrs H. Webster for the untiring work they had done to make the outing a success. Results:— 100 yards Plumbers Championship: C. Harvey, 1; J. Webster, 2; O. Waugh. 3. 100 yards /Apprentices’ Handicap: J. Taylor, 1; P. Douch, 2. 100*yards Open Handicap: G. Larsen, 1; P. Douch, 2; T. Russell, 3. 50 yards Married women’s: Mrs Glover, 1; Mrs Gilmore, 2; Mrs Marsh, 3. Cigarette Race: T. Russell, 1; O. Waugh, 2: L. Waugh, 3. Men’s Egg and Spoon Race: C. Harvey, 1: C. Hjorth, 2; J. Rendle, 3. Women’s Egg ancl Spoon Race: Mrs Gilmore, 1: Mrs Broadfoot, 2; Mrs O. Waugh, 3. Chain Stepping: Men, F. Holmes; women, Mrs Gourley. Treasure Hunt: Joan Marsh, 1; G.
