H. L. Anthony, AusP tralian Assistant Treasurer and Assistant Minister of Commerce. Mr y Anthony is visiting New Zealand to confer with the Government, para i ticularly upon problems connected | with meat and other staple export • products. J People must learn to do without a j number of things, to lessen personal available Ip their Governments for n the prosecution of the war, he said, o Already export industries were beil ginning to feel the strain ol war conditions. The overseas markets for d apples and pears had disappeared d i almost overnight and the difficulty is ! over meat might yet become more >d ' severe. In this matter Australia and n : New' Zealand had much in common, s’ ' and by co-operation they might ir 1 lessen the effect of loss of markets upon Iheir economic life.
