HORSES FOR CAMP
SPECIAL TRAINS TO WAIOURU
REST IN HAMILTON Captain S. E. McNamara, of the Staff Corps, Northern Military Command, was in Hamilton yesterday supervising the collection and railing of a large number of horses gathered from many South Auckland districts for despatch by special trains to Waiouru military camp, where they will be used for the next few weeks as military remounts. A train was despatched from Frankton last evening with approximately 330 horses, assembled principally from the Pukekohe and Papatoetoe districts. A further 40U horses from the Cambridge, Hamilton, Te Awamutu, and Northern King Country districts proceeds to Waiouru today.
On Saturday next a special train comes from Taneatua, Bay of Plenty, arriving at Hamilton at about 10 p.m., with approximately 200 horses. They will leave Hamilton at 2.30 p.m. on Sunday lor Waiouru, and later in the day another train, bearing 200 will arrive in Hamilton from Rotorua and districts en route-
Another special train is due at Hamilton from Taneatua on Monday night with about 230 horses. These will be despatched to Waiouru on Tuesday, after the horses have rested at Claudeiands lor the night.
