LORD CRAIGAVON
SYMPATHY APPRECIATED In response to a cable message of sympathy sent to Lady Craigavon by the Waikato branch of the New Zealand Ulstermen’s Association at the time of the death of the late Lord Craigavon, first Prime Minister of Northern Ireland, Mr James Millen, of Parawera, honorary secretary of the branch, has received the following reply:— “Dear Mr Millen.—l write to say how very grateful I am to you for your cable of sympathy to me in my great sorrow from the Ulstermen of New Zealand, and to thank you all so much for your kind thought of me and my famliy at this sad time. I appreciate most deeply the tribute that you paid to the late Prime Minister in your wire, who as you know was such a very great Imperialist. “We both always looked back to the time that we spent in New Zealand as one of the happiest memories of our lives: and never forgot the wonderful kindness that was shown to us by Ulstermen, and the other inhabitants, of both North and South islands. Thanking you one and all again,—Your sincerely, Creil Craigavon.”
