BOWLING

ROUND THE GREENS TOURNEYS AT WHITIORA The annual returned soldiers bowling tournament is to take place at the Whitiora Club’s greens to-morrow. Mr V. R. Crcwhurst, the honorary secretary, has received over 20 entries, including teams from Rocky Nook (Auckland), Papatoetoe, Huntly and Rotorua. With fine weather prevailing there is every prospect of a very successful tournament. The veteran bowlers’ tournament, restricted to players at least 65 years of age, which was to have been played at the Whitiora Club’s greens last Thursday, and which was postponed owing to adverse weather conditions, is to be held on Thursday. The third tournament this week at Whitiora is an open full rink tournament on Saturday, and hopes are entertained of a good muster of players, including representation from most of the neighbouring clubs.
