BATHING FATALITY
WEST COAST SPORTSMAN <By Telegraph. —Press Association) WESTPORT, Monday While bathing on North Beach this afternoon Mr Alfred John Caldwell, aged 26, son of Mr and Mrs William Patrick Caldwell, was drowned. Mr Caldwell was formerly prominent in cycling as a representative of Buller in Maher Cup competitions, and was also a Buller Rugby representative. AUCKLAND, Monday The death occurred in the Auckland Hospital late this afternoon of Mrs Anne Thelma Denton, aged 27, of 26 Staffa Street. Parnell. Mrs Denton was admitted to the hospital on Sunday morning after an accident in which she fell from the pillion of a a motor-cycle which skidded on the Penrose overbridge. She suffered concussion and head injuries. Her condition on admission was serious and she did not rally.
