FRONTIER CLASH
THAILAND AND FRENCH SEVERAL NATIVES KILLED ARREST OF RINGLEADERS (United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) SHANGHAI, Nov. 25 It is officially stated from Hansi, French Indo-China, that a border incident occurred on the Thailand frontier on Saturday night. Thailand troops attempted to cross a creek on the border near Popet, but retreated following the exchange of a few shots. Several native police and guard? were killed or wounded on Friday night in several villages west and north of Saigon when gangs of armed bandits attacked isolated police stations and local administration offices in the Vunglien, Tambinh, and Cang long districts. The military authorities took “strong action” in restoring order, and a number of the ringleaders were arrested. The Hanoi correspondent of the Domei agency says guards captured aimed Annamese wno were, attempting to cause a riot in Saigon on Friday. Government officials are reported to have said Communists were responsible. Apparently all news agencies except the Domei and Havas agencies have been censored in the past 48 hours by the Indo-China authorities. In Bangkok, capital of Thailand, the police have issued an order prohibiting the publication of reports of the activities of the armed forces, especially in the border regions, “in view* of the increasing seriousness” of the present crisis.
