ONLY DAY’S HOLIDAY
CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR KEEPING UP PRODUCTION (Offlcla) Wireless) (Received Nov. 26. 3.15 0.m.) RUGBY, Nov. 25 The flow of production for war purposes is great and is ever increasing, in spite of the efforts of the enemy to impede it, but this is not the moment for any slackening off. The more the flow of production is accelerated the earlier will be the day of final victory. The Government has therefore called on all managements and workers engaged in war work to continued production during the coming Christmas and New Year season, with not more than a day’s break. So that production may be continued with as little interruption as possible and the maximum amount of freight may be handled, no additional services or facilities for passenger travel by road and rail can be provided at the Christmas or New Year season. On Christmas Day in England and Wales and on New Year’s Day in Scotland the normal Sunday services will in general run.
