OBITUARY

MF . STANLEY WARWICK SUDDEN DEATH AT NAPIER (By Telegrapn.—special to Times) NAPIER, Tuesday Mr Alexis Stanley Warwick, the well-known producer for amateur societies, collapsed and died during the progress of the comedy “Jane” by amateur performers. He was 50 years of age. Born in London, Mr Warwick went to Australia in 1906 from South Africa. In 1915, he was appointed from 500 applicants as registrar of the Conservatorium of Music, Sydney. Relinquishing this appointment Mr Warwick came to New Zealand to judge the Wellington Competitions in 1920. He remained in New Zealand, and went to Napier in 1930, being engaged in teaching elocution at the Technical College up to the 1931 earthquake, and then at Napier Boys’ High School, and at Hastings High School. Besides producing “Jane” Mr Warwick was taking a part in the production. VEN. E. T. CROZIER CHURCH WORK IN AUSTRALIA (United Assn.- dec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Nov. 26, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 25 The death has occurred of Ven. Edward T. Crozier, rector of Great Wratting since 1932. Mr Crozier was formerly prominent in church work in Australia. He was head of the Bush Brotherhood of North Queensland from 1909 to 1912 and Archdeacon of North Queensland from 1914 to 1918.
