HOLIDAY BOWLING WIN FOR PILKINGTON SUCCESS AT CLAUDELANDS Ideal weather conditions and excellent greens contributed to the success of holiday bowling attractions in Hamilton yesterday. The one-day tournament at the Claudelands club’s greens was cqntested by 24 teams, representative of Hamilton and outside clubs. With five wins, Nicholas, Sutton, Griffiths and Pilkington, of the Hamilton club, won the tournament outright. Alker, Hansen, Cann and Luxton, of the Frankton club, and Burton, L. Woodhall, Frost and Nelson, of the Whitiora club, were runners-up with four wins. A one-day tournament at the Railway club’s greens was won outright by another Hamilton club team. Seccombe, Freeman. Anchor and Robinson, with five wins. Williams, E. Spiers, W. Spiers and Cooke, of the Renown club, and Grigg, Andrews, Barton and Wilkes, of the Hamilton club, were runners-up with four wins each. In the play-off of the club tournament held on the Whitiora club’s greens, Cooper and Elliott defeated Roseman, Hammond and Jonathan by seven points to six after an extra head had been played.
