OPENED FOR PLAY
EAST BOWLING CLUB MANY VISITING PLAYERS There was a good attendance at the Hamilton East Bowling Club’s greens this afternoon when the greens were officially opened for play for the new season. The greens were in ideal condition and played particularly well, despite a tricky wind. Visitors and members were welcomed by the club president, Mr J. Karton, who wished them all an enjoyable season. The greens could not be in better condition, he said, and he was sure that members would find them all that could be desired/ In the absence of Mrs Karton, the first jack was sent up by Mrs H. Webster, wife of the vice-president. Among the visiting bowlers were members of the Te Awamutu, Matangi. Hamilton, Frankton and Railway clubs.
