AUTHORISED PRICES EXCEEDED FIVE PAPER MERCHANTS (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday Fines of £lO each were imposed by Mr J. H. Lux ford, S.M.. in the Magistrate’s Court today on the wholesale paper merchants Wiggins, Teape and Alex. Pirie (export) Ltd., Gordon and Gotch. B. J. Ball (N.Z.), Ltd.. John Dickinson and Company, and Alex. Cowan and Sons. They were charged with selling paper and stationery in excess of the authorised price. “When we have a law which prohibits, then that law cannot be broken except under heavy penalty/' said the magistrate.
