DEATH OF FARMER

NOT RESULT OF DISPUTE COLLAPSE AFTER QUARREL A verdict that death resulted from heart failure at Kaipaki on September 13 was returned at an inquest held before Mr F. W. Platts, district coroner, yesterday, concerning tne death of Joseph Alfred Wright, farmer, aged 57. of Kaipaki, who collapsed following an altercation with another man. Dr. G. Waddell gave evidence that deceased suffered from disea e of the coronary arteries and that the heart was in such a condition that it was liable to fail at any moment. As half-an-hour had elapsed after the fight during which there was no sign of the heart being affected, Dr. Waddell was of the opinion that any effect that the fight might have had on the heart had passed off- Death was due to natural causes and was not the result of the dispute. Evidence along similar lines was given by Dr. E. N. S. D'Arcy.
