ADMISSION OF THEFT
PRISONER FOR SENTENCE FURTHER CHARGE OF FORGERY (By Telegraph.—Special to Timet) AUCKLAND, Monday At present serving a sentence of three months’ imprisonment, John Richard Cantell, aged 31, a labourer, was brought from the prison to the Police Court today, when he pleaded guilty to a series oi charges involving offences committed at Otahuhu, Alfriston, Ohinewai, Mercer, Huntly and Auckland between June 6 and July 24, Ihe following were the charges:— Obtaining from Dave Birrel O’Malley, £lO by means of a valueless cheque; stealing from the dwelling of Leonard Howard, an electric iron, cutlery, clothing and a cheque book, of a total value of £ls; theft of a wristlet watch valued at £5 15s; a cycle, rugs, shoes and food, of a total value ol £6 12s; another cycle valued at £8 18s 6d, and a blanket and keys worth £2 3s. He was committed to the Supreme Court lor sentence. On a further charge of forging a cheque for £lO at Te Aroha on July 14 Cantell was remanded to appear at Hamilton on October 21.
