IMPORT ALTERATIONS

BATHING CAPS AND GLASSES I Alterations to the fifth period import plan affected rubber bathing : caps for women and drinking ' glasses for hotels. The importation of bathing caps was banned under the schedule, but licenses will now be granted for importation from the United Kingdom during 1941 to the extent of 33 1-3 per cent of the value j of such articles imported from all i sources in 1938. Licenses for the fourth period will be granted on application for importation from the United Kingdom or Australia of drinking glasses. The values concerned, however, will be deducted from importers’ allocations for the fifth period. Where licenses have already been granted for the fifth period, copies must be returned for deduction of the amount for which a fourth period license is granted. It is also notified that plasticine from any source may not be imported under licenses issued for the fifth period covering educational appliances.
