OBITUARY
MR GEORGE PORTEOUS The death has occurred in the Waikato Hospital of an old resident of Huntly, Mr George Porteous, after an illness of six months. Born at Rosebank, Lanarkshire, Scotland, 62 years ago, Mr Porteous came to New Zealand in 1911, and resided at Nightcaps and Mosgiel in the South Island, before taking up residence at Huntly in 1919. His wife predeceased him 20 years ago. Mr Porteous is survived by three daughters, Mrs H. Jones (Renown), Mrs F. Jones (Huntly), and Mrs J. McEwen (Kimihia). There are four grandchildren.
MRS W. T. BOND The death has occurred at her late residence in Huntly West of an old resident, Mrs Beata Bond, wife of Mr William Thomas Bond. Mrs ! Bond was born at Forest of Dean, ' England, 65 years ago and was married there 40 years ago. | With her husband she came to New Zealand in the Ruahine and took up residence in Huntly 30 years i ago. She is survived by her husband j and one son, Mr Cecil Arthur Bond, of Huntly West. There are two ‘ grandchildren.
