Mr Justice Blair is In Hamilton and is presiding at the quarterly session of the Supreme Court, which opened today. Messrs F. Ellisdon, W. E. Griffin, E. Brooke-Taylor and S. R. McEwen, all of Auckland, are at the Hamilton Hotel. Messrs W. J. Broadfoot, M.P. for Waitomo, and A. R. Fow, of Hamilton, were guests at yesterday’s luncheon of the Auckland Rotary Club. Captain F. B. McWhannell, M.C.. adjutant of the Ist Battalion, 16th Waikato Regiment, which is in camp at Cambridge, has received notification of his transfer to the post of adjutant, District School, Narrow Neck. He will leave the Cambridge military camp next week-end. Mr H. F. Butland, registrar of the Arbitration Court, has been appointed to the position of secretary of the Canterbury Employers’ Association. He succeeds Mr D. I. Macdonald who becomes secretary of the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation. Mr Butland’s place is being filled by Mr R. D. Lumsden, of the head office of the Labour Department in Wellington, who has been appointed acting-registrar.
