TENNIS CLUB OPENS

PROGRESSIVE TOURNAMENT The Cambridge Tennis Club held its official opening on Saturday when, in bright sunshine, a large number of members and friends assembled. Among those present were visitors from the district clubs and from Hamilton and Te Awamutu. The president, Mr V. C. Hollis, in declaring the courts open, welcomed the visitors and new members. He stated that the club was in a good financial position, which reflected credit on the past president, Mr W. Robinson. Mrs Hollis played the first ball. A progressive tournament was held, the winners being L. Smailer, of Hamilton, and Miss I. Slater, of Cambridge.
