UNIVERSAL HORROR
DAMAGE TO ST. PALLS MESSAGES OF SYMPATHY (Omclal Wireless) (Received Oct. 14, 3.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Oct. 13 Further evidence of the universal horror at the damage done recently to St. Paul’s Cathedral, when a Naz bomb penetrated the roof at the eastern end and brought down tom of masonry on the High Altar, ii contained in many telegrams of sympathy being received from all parts of the world by the Dean of St Paul’s. Among them is one from the Primate of the Canadian Church, Dr Darwyn Owen, in which he expresses profound sympathy and thankfulness at the survival of the fabric. The Bishop of the Bahamas cables "Deep -ympathy at the destruction in the Cathedral from the Church in the Bahamas.” The Protestant internees at the central camp at Douglas. Isle oJ Man. have sent the following telegram: "We think with sympathy and intercessions of your church and congregation, remembering Psalm 102, verses 13 to 22.”
