FORMER FILM STARS
NOW PLAYING “BITS” FILMING IN THE HEAT Eight ex-stars of the screen recently proved their ability to troupe along with the youngest players of today by completing several days of rigorous film work throughout Hollywood’s current heat wave. With the temperatures well over the 100-degree mark, Charles Ray, Maurice Costello, Pat O’Malley, Monte Blue, Kenneth Harlan, William Desmond, Noah Beery and Fred Kelsey have spent several days in heavy uniforms for their roles as Gloria Jean’s uncles in “A Little Bit of Heaven.”
The eight play parts as a fireman, barge captain, postman, and other roles, and each wears an authentic uniform of his particular branch of civic or government service.
Despite dance scenes and other rigorous sequences, the eight oncefamous film luminaries completed their duties without delay or mishap.
