FATE OF PILOTS
PILOT POSTED MISSING (By Telegraph.—press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday The following Air Force casualty is announced to-day: Pilot-Officer John Charles Mellon, missing in air operations. His father is Mr A. Mellon, Bell Rock, New Plymouth. PRISONER OF WAR (By Telegrapu.—l"ess Association) WELLINGTON, Friday It was officially announced today that Pilot-Officer Basil William Peryman, who was previously reported missing, is now a prisoner of war at Brussels. His father is Mr H. W. Peryman, of Lincoln, * Canterbury. PILOT’S DEATH NOTIFIED (by Telegraph.—special to Times' AUCKLAND, Friday Recently reported missing. PilotOfficer Winton Selwood Shann has been reported killed in action as the result of air operations on September 25. Pilot-Officer Shann is a son of Mrs N. Cooper, of Belfast, neai Christchurch. He was formerly employed by the Producers’ and Citizens’ Co-operative Assurance | Company, Limited, Auckland.
