NEW SQUADRON

RECONNAISSANCE WORK 220 MEN FOR NELSON ONE FLIGHT AT BLENHEIM (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Saturday The Government has decided to establish a general air reconnaissance squadron of three flights in the Nelson-Marlborough district. Headquarters units and two flights will be established at Nelson aerodrome and one flight at Omaka aerodrome, Blenheim. The aerodromes already developed will be used, but the civil services will not be interfered with. The arrangement is for the duration of the war only. Headquarters and the first flight will join at Nelson in January. The plan will necessitate considerable building for technical services and personnel, and the preliminary work at Nelson is already in hand. The buildings will include two new hangars and subsidiary buildings at Nelson and one hangar and other buildings at Blenheim. The personnel at Nelson will number 220, who at first will be accommodated in tents in public works camp pattern, and at Blenheim 90, for whom buildings will be erected.
