LOAN FOR HOSPITAL

CONTROVERSY IN NORTH (By Telegrapti.—Press Association) DARGAVILLE, Friday One of the largest meetings in the borough in recent years resulted from an invitation by the Mayor of Dargaville, Mr Raymond Gibson, to citizens to- discuss the Te Kopuru £25,000 hospital loan proposals. An offer to donate a site on the northern borough boundary of 45 acres was announced.

The meeting concluded with the Mayor inviting citizens and ratepayers to sign petitions and letters of protest for forwarding to the Local Government Loans Board.

Dr. L. Ci McNickle, of the Health Department, accompanied by Mr Reid, departmental architect, inspected several sites yesterday for an institution in Dargaville Borough. Petitions and letters of protest against the loans proposal are being freely signed throughout the hospital district, which comprises Dargaville Borough, Hobson and Otamatea counties.
