RAW TOBACCO
BRITISH BOARD S CONTROL The British Board of Trade has taken over control of all trading in raw tobacco to ensure fair distribution of available supplies among manufacturers, says the Christian Science Monitor. Britain is still receiving tobacco from the Empire, a spokesman said, but is compelled to draw considerably on accumulated stocks. The spokesmen withheld comment on when buying in America is likely to be resumed, but he disclosed that about 30.000,000 pounds of United States tobacco has been paid for and is waiting for ships to transport it to England.
