Operetta Takings The total takings from the Central School operetta, ‘‘Princess of Poppyland,” at New Plymouth, amounted to £B7. Aproximately £27 of this sum will be available for the dental clinic fund after expenses have been paid. Although ticket sales were large, public support did not come up to expectations, says a New Plymouth paper. New Clinic Praised Appreciation of the Frankton School in raising its quota toward the new dental clinic was voiced by Mr C. A. Barren, M.P., in a telegram received at the official opening. Owing to pressure of Government work in Wellington Mr Barrell regretted that he was unable to be present, but he extended his warmest congratulations to the district for the splendid new building. Power Board Inspectors The appeal of Auckland ElectricPower Board employees against the decision of Mr J. A. Gilmour, S.M., that it was not lawful for the board to employ as inspectors workmen who were not members of the Auckland Electrical Workers’ Union, has been dismissed by the Arbitration Court. The appellants had claimed the right to belong to the Local Authorities Officers’ Union, instead of the Electrical Workers’ Union, but the Court has expressed its agreement with Mr Gilmour.
