RAIDS OVER MALTA

ENEMY PLANES SHOT DOWN ROYAL AIR FORCE SUCCESS (omclal Wireless) (Received Sept. 28. 3.15 p.m.) RUGBY, Sept. 27 Royal Air Force reports from Cairo state that enemy fighters flew over Malta on Wednesday and were engaged by Royal Air Force fighters. As a result one enemy aircraft was shot down, the pilot being killed. Another was probably shot down and a third enemy fighter is believed to have been severely damaged by anti-aircraft fire.
