LEAGUE MEETING

SOLDIERS’ WIVES AND MOTHERS

The fortnightly meeting of the League of Wives and Mothers of Exservicemen and Men of H.M. Forces was recently held in the Hamilton Citizens’ Band room, when Mrs D. I. Gate presided. There was a large attendance, several new members being enrolled. Members who had been on duty at the Soldiers’ Club were heartily thanked and the hostesses were arranged for the next week-end. Several donations were received, and the many people who have kindly helped by providing food were accorded a vote of thanks. A committee was set up to arrange a dance to raise funds to carry on the work of the league. Afternoon tea brought a pleasant afternoon to a close. The next meeting is on October 1 when all soldiers’ wives and mothers are welcome.
