WAIKATO TROTTING
PROGRAMMES ARRANGED SPRING AND SUMMER MEETINGS STAKES TO TOTAL £2850 Stakes totalling £2850 will be distributed by the Waikato Trotting Club for its Spring and Summer Meetings on November 30 and December 6 respectively. Details of the programme were drawn up last evening and are to be submitted ior approval. Attractive programmes have been arranged, the chief event at the Spring meeting, class 4.39, carrying prize money of £3OO, and the principal event for straight-out trotters, class 4.52, £2OO. Other events a mile and a-half race for class 3.49 trotters (£130), a mile and a-quarter, class 3.5, for maiden pacers, a mile and a-quarter, class 3.1, for improving pacers, a mile and a-half, class 3.43, for maiden pacers and a sprint of a mile and a-quarter, class 2.52. Among the features of the Summer meeting will be the mile and aquarter Auckland Cup Trial, class 2.48, for which £250 has been allotted. The chief handicap, class 4.39, carries prize money of £3OO. There will also be a class 3.49 for trotters and a 3.5 for maiden pacers, while the straight-out trotting event, class 4.52, will be also catered for to the extent of £2OO. Other events are a mile and a-half, limit 3.38, of £145, a two mile, class 4.48, of £l6O, and a mile and a-half, class 3.31, of £175, for intermediate pacers. The programmes are comprehensive and should attract the attention of owners throughout the province.
