LOSS OF EQUIPMENT
CAMBRIDGE POWER BOARD SHIPMENT NOT ARRIVED (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE. Thursday The effect of shipping disruption as a result of the war was shown at Wednesday night’s meeting of the Cambridge Electric Power Board, when a letter was received from a supplying firm stating that a shipment of electric ranges had been lost at sea. It was intimated that difficulty was being experienced also in obtaining spare parts for ranges. 1 The chairman, Mr M. Wells, said ' that the board could only receive I the letter and express regret at the circumstances. 1 To an inquiry by a member, the i engineer, Mr H. C. Aaten, stated , that a number of motors on order had been lost as well. The board was short of motors, he said, and as , a result a check had been made on all motors that were not in use. A number that had been discarded were collected and had been sent i to Hamilton to be re-wound. Several members of the board intimated that they had old motors which could be used in an emergency, and the board agreed to ask all consumers to make it known if they had motors which could be , used.
