DEBT TO SEAMEN

ALLOCATION OF £20,000 WORK IN PRESENT WAR (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The annual meeting of the New Zealand Sheepowners’ Acknowledgement of Debt to British Seamen Fund was held today. The Managing Trustee, Mr T. R. Lees, said there had been an accretion of £108.243, and it had been decided to allocate £20.000 of the present funds to work jn connection with the present war. Mr Lees said it might be possible to double the allocation after all riaims from the previous war had been met. Requests had been sent out to all contributors, and 230 approvals had been received, showing that probably the consent be unanithat probably the consent would be unanimous. Later on it would be necessary to contribute specially to a fund for survivors of the present war. The approval of the National Patriotic Board would be necessary.

Mr Edward Newman was reelected chairman.
