BUTTER RATIONS

CUT IN HALF IN BRITAIN (United Press Asn. —Elec. Tel. copyright) LONDON, Sept. 25 The butter ration in Britain is to be decreased from four ounces to two ounces a week as from to-day. People are to get another two ounces of margarine instead. The Ministry of Food explains that the butter ration has been decreased as a precautionary measure owing to the fact that supplies are not coming forward at this time of the year in as large quantities as at other periods. From November onward, the Ministry adds, supplies will progressively increase from Australia and New Zealand. The meat ration, however, is to be increased. People will be able to buy 2s 2d worth of meac a week instead of Is lOd.
