THREAT BY JAPANESE CHINESE RESISTANCE (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 25 Fighting continues in Indo-China between troops of the French garrison and the Japanese. The Chinese are reported to have attacked the Japanese near Lungchow <and to be hindering the invasion of Indo-China. A report from Haiphong says that there was some minor exchange of rifle and machine-gun fire again yesterday afternoon between the French and Japanese in the north of IndoChina, but that otherwise the situation was outwardly quiet. It is reported from Shanghai that the Japanese army newspaper Hsin Shun Pao has made the following comment on the position in IndoChina:— “Should a misunderstanding arise between Washington and Tokio, leading to a crisis, Japan will strike a blow at any opnosition, regardless of what happens.”
