TENNIS SEASON
ST. PETER'B CLUB’S SUCCESB ANNUAL MEETING HELD A successful year was reviewed at the annual meeting or St. Peter’s Tennis Club. Mr C. F. Davey presided. The annual report disclosed that the number or women members had not decreased, but owing to the war a number or men were not available. Already nine members were on active service. At the beginning or the season two courts were put down in bitumen. The cost was considerably reduced by the work being carried out gratis by a number or member.*, who were thanked lor their generosity. Thn club entered two team In the Hamilton sub-association competitions, the intermediate team being successful in winning the cup for Its grade, sustaining only one loss Tor the 'season. The annual club matches brought good entries, and some keen battles wire Taught. The Vickery Cup was won by Mrs A. J. Yendoii and the Page Cup by E. Collier, while the Combined Doubles cups went to Mrs A. J Yemleii and J. E. Murray. The balance-sheet disclosed a small credit balance. The election of officers resulted:—'Patron. the Fit. Rev. c. A. Lock; treasurer. Mrs C. F. Davey; auditor. Mr A. B. Whyte; committee, Mrs M. Finn, Sirs 11. H. .’short. Dr. H. E. Amiett. Mr A. J. Yendell; delegates to Hamilton Suib-association, Messrs H. MeFarlane, J. E. Murray. Opening day was llxed Tor Saturday, October 5.
