! The Morrinsville Cycle and Athletic Club held its second annual road race on Saturday. The course was from Morrinsville to Paeroa and back, a distance of 50 miles. Com- , petitors from Auckland. Tauranga, Te Kuiti, Matamata and Morrinsville , took part. Results:— ! Fastest Time.—Senior: R. Hamp- ’ shire (Morrinsville), 2h 25m. Junior.—L. Pittams (Morrinsville), 2h 30m. Pittams was the winner of the 100 miles race last Saturday. Placings.—C. Page (Te Kuiti), 10m, 1; R. Hampshire (Morrinsville), , 3m, 2; N. Barlow (Morrinsville), 10m, 3; O’Shaughnessy (Auckland), sm, 4. me race was a splendid one with | a very close finish. Officers for the day were:—Judges, Messrs Phillpot, Barlow and Robson; starter, Mr Swinburn (Matamata); referees, Messrs R. Hampshire (Morrinsville) and Skidmore (Matamata); timekeeper, Mr D. R. F. Campbell; secretaries, Messrs W. Redman and B. Yardley. The weather was fine and the limit men got away on time. Keen interest was shown, large crowds being at the start at Te Aroha, at Paeroa, and at the finish again at Morrinsville.
