SLOOP SUNK
FATE OF H.M. SLOOP DUNDEE TORPEDOED BY U-BOAT (Official Wireless) (Received Sept. 23, 11 a.m.) RUGBY. Sent. 2*> The Admiralty announces that His Majesty’s sloop Dundee was torpedoed by a U-boat and subsequently sank. GIBRALTAR, Sept. 22 An Italian submarine torpedoed the Spanish trawler Almirante Carranzo off North-west Spain. There was one survivor.
It is believed the submarine mistook the trawler for a British patrol vessel.
