STRUCK BY CAR

SOLDIER PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT NEAR HOPU HOPU Injuries which were not serious were received by a member of the Maori Battalion which -is in training at the Hopu Hopu military camp when he was hit by a car last night. He was Sergeant Peter Mahima, aged 23, who was admitted to the Waikato Hospital with head and shoulder injuries. The motorist stopped immediately and assisted the injured man before he was taken to hospital. The soldier was walking from Ngaruawahia to the camp at the time of the accident, which occurred about half a mile north of Ngaruawahia.
