PERSONAL
The Hon. H. T. Armstrong, Minister of Housi’ng, was in Hamilton today. He inspected the State Housing Scheme garden suburb at Hamilton East before proceeding to Te Awamutu, where he visited the Tokanui Hospital. Tonight he will travel south on the Tu*“» '»d express for Wellington. The Minister travelled from Auckland this morning.
Mr C. A. Barrell, M.P. for Hamilton, returned from Wellington this morning.
Mr H. J. McMullin, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to Hamilton.
Messrs W. Johnstone (Te Kuiti), J. J. Laskey (Putaruru) and S. D. J. Cohen (Hastings) are at the Hamilton Hotel.
Senior-Sergeant A. G. McHugh, oi Hamilton, has been gazetted an inspector of clubs, under the Licensing Act, 1908.
Dr. H. C. Tod, of Cambridge, a lieutenant in the New Zealand Medical Corps, has been promoted to the rank of captain.
Detective A. Moore, of Auckland, has arrived in Hamilton to take up his position in the vacancy caused by the transfer of Detective-Sergeant A. J. White to Rotorua.
Mr J. Abel, of Wellington, who was organiser for the Sick, Wounded and Distress Fund appeal, has been appointed organiser for the patriotic campaign to raise £1,000,000, of which the London Relief Fund is part.
