INFANTILE PARALYSIS

REPORT FROM SWEDEN NEW ZEALAND OPINION •■By TOegrapli.—lAssociation) DUNEDIN, Friday Commenting on the Stockholm cablegram regarding infantile paralysis, Dr. Hercus, Dean of the Medical Faculty, Otago University, said while the facts stated by Dr. Kling were important there was clear evidence so far as New Zealand was concerned that personal contact was the chief cause of the spread of the disease. Dr. Kling was perhaps inclined to over-emphasise the new fact, and it would be a serious mistake to accept the position as applying to New Zealand. A cablegram from Stockholm reporting a claim to have isolated the infantile paralysis virus appears on page 7.
