TRACTOR OVERTURNS
YOUNG MAN’S FATAL INJURIES (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) WHAKATANE, Thursday Crushed beneath a tractor on a farm at Matata this morning, Mr Hamilton Joffre Clark, aged 25, suffered severe injuries from which he died shortly afterward. Mr Clark was engaged in hauling sledge loads of wood from the bush. The tractor was observed to capsize and roll down a bank into a small creek. The machine rolled on Mr Clark. BOY MAKES RESCUE CHILD FLOATING IN STREAM (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) ROTORUA, Thursday A boy. aged 11, Robert Whakaue, rescued a child of three from drowning at the Waiteti settlement, near Ngongotaha, yesterday. The child slipped into the water while walking over a tree trunk across the stream. The elder boy was near by on the bank and did not see the accident, but he noticed the child floating down with the current and jumped in and drew him to the bank.
