SALE OF AYRSHIRES
MARKET AT CLAUDELANDS PRICES TO 60 GUINEAS Competition was steady for Ayrshire bulls on the third and final day of the Waikato Combined Breeders’ Association’s bull fair at Claudelands today. Over the early sales prices up to 60gns were paid, but actually few sales were made above 45gns. Good average sorts were traded from 30 to 40gns, and less attractive descriptions from 15 to 25gns. Sixty guineas was paid by Mr W. H. Wells, of Morrinsville, for the yearling Bonny Glen Copper, by Ardgowan Copper King from Bonny Glen Diamond. Messrs S. Sing and Sons, of Morrinsville, were the vendors. One from the consignment of Mr W. H. Worster, of Puketaha, a yearling by Eden Park Security from Hillside June, sold at 50gns to Mr F. G. Southern, of Te Poi. Shorthorn and Friesian bulls were also offered this afternoon. The sale was conducted by the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd.. Messrs Dalgety and Company, and Messrs G. W. Vercoe and Company, Ltd.
