ANGLICAN CHURCH DANCE For the purpose of raising funds for the church hall, a very jolly dance was held in the parish hall, Ngaruawahia, on Monday night. Music was supplied by Mr W. Matangi’s orchestra and the master of ceremonies was Mr Eric Stow. Novelty waltzes were won by Mr J. Adams and Miss N. Wright, and Mr N. Clarke and Miss C. Keim. Among those present were:—Mesdames Clark (Huntly), W. Matangi, F.. Chaney, F. Nicholson, V. Muller, Mitchell, McDonald (New Plymouth). Misses E. Mcßurney, M. Dooley. I. Mcßurney, M. Starnes, E. Roche, T. Raiti, R. Baker, E. Brown, M. Brennan, R. Wapp, N. Wilson, T. Wapp, G. Wallbank, C. Kelm, P. Muller, N. Wright, P. Miller, J. Buchanan. ENTERTAINMENT FOR SOLDIERS A happy dance, organised by Ngaruawahia members of the Happiness Club, was held in the parish hall on Saturday evening. This entertainment, which is free to soldiers, is to be continued every Saturday evening and the initial one was a great success. Music was supplied by Mrs J. T. Holt and the master of ceremonies was Lieutenant Anderuon. Extras were supplied by private Wallace, and items were contributed by Private Morrison. Among those present were:—Mesdames Anderson, C. Quintal, J. Cotter, Smith, Luxted, F. Chaney, G. Wilmot, Moore, Johnston, W. Eaddy, A. G. Weld. F. Abbott, J. McCauley, J. T. Holt, Cryer, Knighton, H. Snowden.. Misses D. Tuck, J. Harrison, P. Menzies, R. Abbott, L. Moore, P. Cubitt.
