VISITORS TO CAMP
DAY AT CLAUDELANDS Although the majority of the 7th Medium Battery was absent on leave, a number of civilians visited the camp at the Claudelands showgrounds yesterday afternoon, which was the first visitors’ day. About 20 people inspected the camp. All the members of A troop (Auckland) of the battery were granted full week-end leave, while the men of B troop and headquarters troops (Hamilton) were granted leave from 10 a.m. yesterday. Only the soldiers on duties and a few others who did not go out on leave were in camp when it was open to the public. Dance for Soldiers At the request of many of the troops visiting Hamilton from camps in the Waikato the Women’s War Service Auxiliary has decided to hold a dance in the Ritz Ballroom, Frankton, next Saturday night.
