GERMAN LOSSES

263 PLANES IN WEEK 4103 DURING WAR COMPARISON WITH BRITAIN tUnitea Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 15 The past week’s bombing cost the Germans up to midnight Friday 263 aeroplanes, many of which were bombers with multiple crews. Britain lost 62 defending fighters, but many of the pilots were saved. Even including British raiders lost over Germany and German-occupied territories, our losses have averaged only 92 machines a week for the whole war. The Germans have so far lost 4105 aeroplanes, the British 1244 and the Italians 186. To these Air Ministry figures, covering only aircraft definitely destroyed, must be added the Admiralty announcement of the destruction of at least 153 German and Italian aeroplanes.
