INCREASED RATE COLLECTION (Special to Times) MORRr.N'SVILLE. Saturday. A.t a meeting of the Morrlnsvllle Borough Council the town clerk, Mr A. G. Strahan. reported that £8582 19 s 2d was collected In rates during the discount month, representing 82.36 per cent of the total rates. Last year’s collection was 76.73 per cent. The council voted rhe sum or £lO towards the £IOO shortage in the amount necessary to erect the Maori hostel at Hamilton. PPAKO CALF POOL The =um or £12,082 17s ltd was paid out up to August 27 to suppliers of the : Piako Federated Cair Pool. The advance j was at the rate of 1s 2d per lb llve- ! weight.
