FRENCH MONARCHISTS

ACTIVITIES OF COMTE DE PARIS (Times Air Mail Service.) LONDON, Aug. 3 The French monarchists are getting busy again, says the Evening Standard. The pretender Comte de Paris, who some weeks ago went to Brazil, has now returned to France, and is living not far from Vichy. One of his lieutenants, the Comte de Lusignan, has reached London, where he is putting over propaganda for the restoration of the French monarchy. He claims that the stock of the Comte de Paris has risen considerably during the last few weeks, and he hopes that, just as the debacle of 1870 overthrew the Empire and produced a Republic, so the present catastrophe may overthrow the Republic and produce a Monarchy. The Comte de Lusignan has royal blood in his own veins. His namesake was made King of Cyprus at the time of the Crusade.
