It was agreed that owing- to the outstanding- strength of the Matamata cluD detr&rrting from the Interest or the association’s Keane Banner rompettlon, the cliit> would not compete this year. Matamata Club's Year The most successful year ever experienced was reported at the annual general mooting of the Matamata Tennis club The membership totalled 112, an increase of 34 over the previous year, and an overdraft of £69 5s 1 Id had been reduces V> £2 14a 7d. CodcShmtt: delegates, Messrs Keeiov. Irvine and Cockshott. It was decided that a levy or 5s be made on members and that the club supply new- balls for each court each Saturday. The president reported that Messrs Granville and McDonald had reused to accept a refund of their subscription* When they proceeded to camp, and It was ajrreM that this money he used to provide trophies Tor special competitions to be held this year in the names or the two members concerned. It was agreed to continue with the organised games as last year. AT. ANDREW'S CLUB (Special to Times) CAMBRIDGE. Wednesday. Th« annual meeting of S-t. Andrew’s Tennis Chib was held In the Cambridge Parish Hall on Monday when the Rev. C. W. Chandler presided over a good attendance. The secretary reported on a very successful season although r<ywer matches were played owing to the difficulty or transport. Two large cups had been donated by the vice-presidents and vestry for champion singles, and these were won by Miss M. Ross and C. Bovce. Cups donated by Mr F. Salt and Mr C. Bovce for most improved players of the season were won by Miss B. Ross and H. Green halgh, while Miss R. Ross won Mr J. Lins ley’s trophy Tor winning the most ladder matches. The club has lost 14 members who are now serving in the Forces. Election or omcers resulted:— (Patron. Mr O. V. Simpson; president. Rev.
