988,725 MEN REGISTER LOYALTY OF CANADA STATEMENT BY MINISTER United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. copyright) OTTAWA, Sept. 10 The Canadian Minister of National War Services, Mr J. G. Gardiner, has announced that 988,725 single men. aged between 19 and 45 years, have registered for military service. Of this total 77,983 are in the 21year class and will start training in October. Two batches of 30,000 each are to be called up before Christmas.

The figures do not include the 60,000 men who have already enlisted for active service.
